Tomorrow is my kiddos birthday! The past week leading up to his birthday has brought up all the ‘feels’.
Facebook has been doing a lovely job of reminding me of all the sweet and tender times I had leading up to actually meeting him face to face. Gosh, what a ride…
I always wanted to be a mom…and originally a mom to 4!! Crazy I know. After having him, I realized just how much I like my solo time, while also realizing just how much of my time my kiddo needs too.
Over the past few weeks I have wrestled with myself and made myself so wrong for thinking I had not found the balance of working, playing, creating and showing up the way I know I would like to show up as a mom, a friend, an business owner and all the other things I get to show up for and as. It’s been a ride to say the least. And word for the wise…making yourself wrong to try and change things for the greater NEVER works…EVER. Don’t do it…unless you want to stay small. Acknowledging yourself for your gifts, your strengths and how far you’ve come…does work…just FYI.
If you really want to make a change in your life and how you are showing up, you’ve got to look at the choices you are making. YOU get to choose how you show up for you and all other areas of your life.
How are you going to choose to show up for you today? And will you choose to let that inner critique lead the show, or will you override it with your knowing that you’ve got better things to do than be unkind to yourself?
